2. Tennessee Ahead of Texas A&M

While putting the Tennessee Vols at No. 7 in the SEC in the middle of the pack is perfectly reasonable, it is extremely odd to put them ahead of the Texas A&M Aggies. It seems as if this program and head coach Kevin Sumlin continue to get no respect in the SEC.

Vols fans are right to be excited about this year, but the Aggies were better last year and in a tougher division, and both teams have recruited well and have lots of players back. While it is odd to have Tennessee behind Arkansas, it is just as odd to have both teams ahead of Texas A&M.

Perhaps there is a bit of bias from the longtime SEC media members who still do not respect the SEC newcomers, which could be why Missouri was not considered a legitimate contender in the East despite having won the division two years in a row.

But the Aggies have certainly shown to this point to be better than Tennessee, even if the Vols do finally burst back onto the scene this year.

There is not enough at this point to have the standings look the way they did in the SEC predictions.
