Jones is a Tennessee prospect from Murfreesboro who is likely a guy that grew up willing to run through a brick wall for Tennessee. Now he is on the team and could turn into an immediate perfect fit for the Vols.

Jones stands at 6’4″ 300 pounds, and despite being on offensive tackle, he has a bit of versatility as well, which means he could be worked into the rotation in general. If there are injuries on the line, he will be ready anywhere, which is a huge plus.

The four-star prospect on Rivals is ranked the No. 6 best offensive tackle in the country, so make no mistake, he is an elite player. And he is a top 100 player in the country and the No. 3 player in the state. The only reason he is not higher on this list is because of another guy that he has to compete with to get playing time if the opportunity does indeed present itself.

More on that later. For now, let’s move over to the other side of the trenches.

Jack Jones

Offensive Tackle, Murfreesboro, Tenn. (Oakland)

Now while the offensive line is thin, there is a great chance for offensive tackles to get into the starting lineup. No disrespect to Coleman Thomas and Kyler Kerbyson, and maybe they’ll be better with more experience, but the offensive blocking on the outside was flat-out terrible in 2014.

This team overall gave up 43 sacks on the year, tied for No. 122 in the country in that category. Enter a few new offensive tackles to provide a bit of healthy competition. The first of those guys is offensive tackle Jack Jones.
