4. Hot Tennessee Toddy

Now we get to the good stuff. You’ve got to get the Jack Daniel’s in there somehow, and we simply had to save that for near the top of the list. Let’s begin with the Hot Tennessee Toddy, and no, this is not a reference to the Ole Miss Rebels by any stretch of the imagination.

The Hot Tennessee Toddy will have the perfect Fall flavor to it that everybody will enjoy, and it is true to its Tennessee roots with the sophistication of Jack combined with the rough and tough side of Jack.

Check here for this recipes and others. It has a few more pieces to it than usual drinks, but it’ll work.

Here is how it stacks up:

1 part Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7

A spoonful of honey

Fresh, squeezed lemon juice

Boiling water

A Cinnamon Stick

Mix all of the others together and put a cinnamon stick in there, and this is the drink that is ready to send you off into the Fall in Knoxville. Don’t misunderstand, though. The lemon juice still keeps that summer flavor in. But the sweet honey flavor, the cinnamon spice that will come with it, and the inevitable orange color that comes with it will signify that October is here in Knoxville and we have reached the heart of college football season.

That is exactly what you want, particularly for this year, when the season will hopefully not be a lost cause by the start of October. We will find out soon enough if the Vols have something to play for getting to that point.

And if they do, time to whip out this drink in celebration.
