Quarterback. Denver Broncos. Peyton Manning. 1. player. 45.
Chris Rock had a saying once that we should stop comparing Jay Z to other rappers because he belongs in the conversation with guys like Frank Sinatra and people on that level. Peyton Manning has probably earned the right as well. He can’t be compared to other former Vols in the NFL.

And that includes this year, regardless of what people are saying about age and attrition kicking in.

Manning is not going anywhere. The prisoner of the moment thinking after what happened during the second half of last season will keep fans betting against him, but he should be back to full health this year. And regardless of what you think about his body, his mind is still in perfect condition, so he only needs the minimum skills to be great.

Manning will be back in the MVP race this year, and everybody will once again be talking about how amazed they are that he could do this at 39 despite being so hesitant to bet against him before the season started. How many times have we gone in circles with Manning over this? He was supposed to be done in 2008 but won the next two MVP’s. Then he was done after his neck injury but came back and had two of the best years of his career.

Now, after an injury that messed him up at the end of last season, he is apparently supposed to be done again. Not happening.

This former Vol, who is obviously the longest-tenured Vol in the NFL and one of the two longest-tenured players in the NFL, will be back to elite status once again and the best former Vol in the NFL.
