Even better than that, with the addition of Amari Cooper along with Derek Carr as the quarterback, the Raiders should be able to have a solid, consistent passing game this year. Carr is accurate and smart and should develop into the most solid quarterback the Raiders have had since Jason Campbell in 2011. And that will give Rivera a chance to shine.

This is not to say that Oakland will be anything worth talking about this year as a football team overall, but Mychal Rivera should be good enough to raise quite a few eyebrows, and according to multiple sources, he has been impressing a lot of people in practice already going into the season.

Perhaps he and Cooper with Carr throwing the ball can give Raider Nation something to cheer about after all going into this year.
