Vols 2015 Stat Projections: Marquez North
By Zach Ragan
Junior Marquez North is probably the hardest Vols wide receiver to project stats for in 2015.
There’s little doubt that North is one of the more talented wide receivers in the SEC — when he’s healthy.
North battled through nagging injuries last season and ended up missing Tennessee’s final three games. The 6’4″ Charlotte native was held without a catch in the final two games he played last year.
There’s some question as to how healthy North will be this season. He’s currently dealing with a leg injury, but according to Butch Jones he isn’t suppose to miss much time.
If North can get close to 100%, then he should have a true breakout season as a junior, especially with Josh Dobbs at quarterback.
However, if North has to go through another season dealing with injuries, then he could have a stat line as disappointing as last season.
I’m betting that North has a big season. He’s already showed us that he’s capable of making incredible catches. And his size/speed combination is exactly what you look for in an All-SEC caliber wide receiver.
