Vols Recruiting: D’Andre Christmas-Giles Commits To Tennessee

Butch Jones and the Tennessee Vols continued their recruiting roll on Saturday morning, landing a commitment from 2016 three-star defensive tackle D’Andre Christmas-Giles.

Christmas-Giles, 6’4″/290 lbs from New Orleans, LA (St. Augustine), is rated by 247Sports as the 96th best 2016 player in the state of Louisiana and the 117th best 2016 defensive tackle in the nation.

The Louisiana native, who was just offered by the Vols earlier this week, committed to Tennessee over offers from Kansas, Kent State, Southern Miss, Tule and Western Kentucky, among several others.

It’s clear that Christmas-Giles isn’t a very highly recruited defensive tackle, but Jones and his staff have a displayed a penchant for uncovering diamonds in the rough. They clearly saw something they liked in Christmas-Giles and I’m sure other programs will take a closer look at him now.

Tennessee now has 16 2016 commits.
