5. The Tennessee Vols Will Win At Least One Game Against Florida, Georgia, Or Alabama
Until the mid-2000s, losing to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama in the same season was always unacceptable. Phillip Fulmer did it three times, in 2002, 2005, and 2008, and the 2008 season did him in.
Betsided
Butch Jones, meanwhile, has lost to all three both years in Knoxville, and Derek Dooley did all three years he was there, so they have lost to all three teams for five years in a row.
That streak must come to an end this year, and it will.
And you could make a case against all three teams.
The Vols will likely already be favored to beat the Florida Gators this year, but don’t forget that they were picked last year and in 2012, and that 10-game losing streak seems to be stuck in their heads.
The Georgia game has been extremely close for each of the past three years, and Tennessee should have beaten the Dawgs the past two years.
And Alabama could be caught at the perfect time if the concerns about the quarterback position and offensive inexperience come to fruition, even though they are not expected to.
So between all of those, the Vols will definitely win one of those games this year, and honestly, if I had to pick, I would hope it will be Florida.
Hey, maybe we can go back to 2004 and they’ll win all three. But there will be at least one win in those three games.
