Vanderbilt fans are hoping year two of the Derek Mason era goes significantly better than year one.

The Commodores lost four of their final games last season and it doesn’t look like things are going to get much better in 2015 (it’s never a good sign when you’re an underdog in your home opener).

Western Kentucky, on the other hand, won their final five games last season. The Hilltoppers could easily walk out of Nashville on Thursday night with an SEC win.

I’m all for giving coaches more than a couple of years to prove themselves, but you have to wonder if Mason is in over his head at Vanderbilt.
