All for Tennessee Week Four SEC Power Rankings: Ole Miss Vaults Up, Alabama Falls

Ole Miss beat Alabama by a heck of a lot more than what was shown on the scoreboard. They truly dominated the game from start to finish and almost gave it away at the end. Sure, Alabama had lots of turnovers, but crazy breaks like a freak onside kick at the end are the only reason they were not blown off of their own home field.
The Rebels simply looked like the better team in Tuscaloosa. And when you break down the roster, this is clearly an elite team.
Before the injuries last year, these guys were undefeated and in the Top Five. Not only is everybody healthy, but they returned every single starter who mattered, and they lost the one starter who held them back, quarterback Bo Wallace. Wallace was replaced by Chad Kelly, who torched the Alabama defense on Saturday and showed that he is better than Wallace in every way.
The only question surrounding whether or not the Rebels can stay in this spot is depth They are doing this now fully healthy, but one quick look at recruiting shows they do not have the horses to handle injuries at certain positions, and that is what showed last year. It even showed last game as their defense got tired at the end but held on thanks to the offense.
They should at least win their next four games, with Florida on the road being the only question, to get to 7-0 when they get set to host the Texas A&M Aggies. If they can win those games easily, they will be able to rest their talent for the gruesome stretch they are in for in late October and all of November.
The schedule in that regard works in their favor this year, so we will get to see what happens.

Ole Miss Rebels 3-0 (1-0)
Last week: Defeated Alabama Crimson Tide 43-37
Last rank: 5
We knew that at the end of last year Hugh Freeze’s Ole Miss Rebels were a team struck with awful injuries that made them look horrendous, but there was no way of knowing that they would be this dominant once everybody on the football team got healthy. Now, the Rebels look like as much of a title contender as anybody.
And they are the Cinderella team sitting atop this week’s SEC Power Rankings, a title that is well-deserved.
