Oklahoma Center Comments On Loudness Of Neyland
By Zach Ragan
Bob Stoops downplayed Oklahoma’s trip to Neyland in September by saying his team had played in front of big crowds before (though they had never played in front of 100,000 plus fans).
The crowd at Neyland for the Vols’ game against the Sooners was one of the best crowds in recent memory. It was incredibly loud. So loud that on the field level you couldn’t even hear yourself talk.
Oklahoma center Ty Darlington liked what he heard during his visit to Neyland.
From OUDaily.com
"What we experienced at Tennessee is what a crowd can do to a game and how a crowd can affect a game. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. If we could have that on our end for our home games the way Tennessee affected us, that would be really cool. — Ty Darlington"
Neyland has one of the best atmospheres in all of college football. There’s no debating that.
But with two losses already this season, it remains to be seen what kind of crowd will show up for Tennessee’s game on Saturday night against Arkansas.
The Vols absolutely have to win this game. They’ll need the fans to be just as loud as they were against the Sooners.
Because the Big Orange faithful, at least according to one opposing player, obviously makes a difference when they show up and get loud.
