2. Better Utilize Alvin Kamara

It is probably not the best day to say this after Alvin Kamara had 31 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

But the five-star junior college transfer at running back only had eight yards on seven carries.

Kamara has 255 yards on 45 carries and 108 receiving yards on 15 receptions. But if you take away the Western Carolina and Bowling Green games, his numbers are relatively pedestrian.

He had 76 total yards against the Arkansas Razorbacks, and that was sadly his best game. He only had 38 total yards against the Georgia Bulldogs, and he only had nine yards against the Oklahoma Sooners.

This is not as great of a performance as it should have been for this guy, who was supposed to turn the combination of him and Jalen Hurd into the best rushing attack in the SEC when you throw Joshua Dobbs in the backfield at quarterback. To be fair, Kamara is more of an all-purpose back.

And a lot of this is on the lack of consistency in the passing game.

But every time the Vols take the field, Kamara and Hurd should be able to total more than 200 all-purpose yards. They are just that good and contrast each other two perfectly.

This has to fall on Mike DeBord. He has got to do a better job of mixing these two guys up and using them appropriately. The Vols have two weeks to get something together for him.

We should expect a lot more when the second half of the season begins.
