Against an elite pass rush, Harris was 13 of 19 for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions while also rushing for 14 yards on five carries.

He was efficient enough to force Florida to respect the passing game, and that allowed for another huge day from Fournette, who had 180 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries.

The defense could have been better against a backup quarterback, but they were not helped by special teams giving up a punt returned for a touchdown and fumbling a punt on the first drive, setting up two Florida touchdowns.

They were fine for the most part.

But after mistakes like that, it took gutsy coaching from Les Miles to put this game away. Miles went to one of his signature fake field goals that went for a touchdown to win, and three stands by the defense after that, the first one the result of a crucial sack, won them the game.

Great running, great defense, a competent and mobile quarterback, and Miles’s mad-hatter tactics working? Sounds like the recipe for a typical LSU national championship.

As the only undefeated SEC team left to this point, they deserve more talk about that than they are getting.

In typical Les Miles fashion, this LSU Tigers football team is finding ways to win games, regardless of what it takes. Up until Saturday, Leonard Fournette’s Heisman campaign and that elite LSU defense have been carrying these guys.

But we all questioned what quarterback Brandon Harris could do if he were forced to win the game. We got our answer this past Saturday.
