2. Alabama Always Plays the Victim

Talk to anybody in Tuscaloosa, and they will act like the NCAA hates them.

The notion that they were wronged for the textbook scandal in the mid-2000s, the violations in the early 1990s, or what happened with Albert Means leads them to believe the NCAA hates them.

After all, how could you punish Alabama for breaking the rules? You’re not supposed to do that. (Please Note the Sarcasm There)

But if the NCAA does not go out of its way to declare Alabama the national champions every year, they have clearly been mistreated by somebody. The most overplayed victim card in all of sports comes from Tuscaloosa.

Just listen to the callers on the Finebaum show. They can’t get over the accusations against Cam Newton and coined the phrase “Scam Newton.”

Then they claimed that Auburn and Tennessee cheat all the time but Alabama seems to be the only one to get caught, of course ignoring the fact that Auburn remains the only SEC team the last 30 years to have an undefeated season and no chance at a national title.

And it happened to them twice.

It is always deflection with these guys.

“Yes, we paid players, but so does this other school. So let us go.”

This football program is the guy who is speeding on the road, gets pulled over by the cops for it, and then says “why didn’t you pull over the other guys who were speeding?”

And if the cop says he did, this guy will say, “Well you still shouldn’t pull me over. You clearly have it out for me.”

They are always treated unfairly, unless of course, they are just automatically voted into national title games. But speaking of whining, let’s move to the No. 1 reason to hate the Alabama Crimson Tide.
