Tennessee Unveils 2016 Football Schedule

The SEC released the schedules for the 2016 football season on Thursday night.

Among those of course, was that of the Tennessee Volunteers.

The Vols will open with the neighboring Appalachian State, and then potentially the largest crowd in college football history with the Battle at Bristol with Virginia Tech.

The Vols schedule looks to be favorable in terms of home field advantage. There will be seven games in Neyland Stadium, among those are rivals Florida and Alabama.

The most intriguing game on the schedule is not the Battle at Bristol, or any of the home games. The Vols will be taking on the Texas A&M Aggies for the first time since they have entered the conference.

The Vols will travel to the notoriously loud Kyle Field on the second Saturday in October. The Vols will have a tough four game stretch from September 24 to the third Saturday in October as they will face Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

However, that is to be expected in the SEC, and with Tennessee expected to be ready to finally “be back” next season, they should be prepared for the test.

Let’s not forget that there are still five games left this season, and potentially six depending on bowl game status. With the Vols expected to win out, fans are once again pointing the finger at “the next year.” Well, we officially have a glance at the next year, and with seven home games, the Volunteers should have a big advantage.
