5. Robert Hubbs’s Leadership
Josh Richardson is gone, and Robert Hubbs III is fully healthy.
The 6’4″ 207 pound shooting guard has had the potential to be on the level of Scotty Hopson since he set foot on campus in Knoxville, but after being limited due to injuries and coaching changes, his health the new system he plays in, which is built around the best players, should allow him to thrive.
Last year Hubbs was a big disappointment averaging barely over seven points a game with just under 41 percent shooting from the field.
As a junior now with the leading scorer gone, this is his team now. He should be the superstar.
And Hubbs needs to show that immediately in the exhibition.
This guy was a five-star on Rivals and the prized recruit of Cuonzo Martin’s second recruiting class.
He took a back seat to a guy who was a three-star out of high school last year.

Hubbs should take a back seat to nobody this year. He is not going to be the point guard or the quarterback running the offense.
But Hubbs has got to be the emotional and vocal leader of this team. From a talent perspective, he is clearly going to be the best player out there for the Vols.
As they play Alabama Huntsville, he needs to go ahead and emerge as the face of the team. Failure to do so will be a terrible sign for the rest of the season. He needs to step up.
