2. Armani Moore Displayed His Versatility

It will still be tough to see how Armani Moore as a 6’4″ power forward will fare against bigger teams, but against Alabama-Huntsville he showed how much of a skill player he can be under the basket.

Moore finished with an impressive 29 points and 10 rebounds, and he was even four of six from the three-point line while going five of six from the free throw line. Considering that he shot .182 from the three-point line last year while also going .617 from the free throw line, those numbers are very impressive.

Moore also showed that he can play point forward to help out with Punter as he struggles to transition to the point guard position. He finished the game with five assists and only one turnover.

And Moore had three steals on top of that.

To be able to do all of that hints that he can be a glue guy for the Vols, kind of like how Dane Bradshaw was in 2006-2007 when they had no true point guard that year either.

Going forward, if Moore can continue that success against more athletic and bigger teams, the senior could be a big leader for the Vols this year.

The best part is that, if Moore can continue to play point forward, that will allow for Punter to get more rest, which is what will have to happen throughout the year.

Moore will be needed, along with Punter, to log a lot of minutes this year just to keep the team together. That brings us to our final takeaway from this game, which is an issue for the Vols.
