This game was not nearly as close as the final score indicated.
Florida didn’t allow South Carolina to score until the fourth quarter.
The loss means the Gamecocks will fail to reach six wins for the first time since 2003. It will be the first time the program hasn’t played in a bowl since 2007 (they won six games that season but were not selected to play in a bowl).
Florida already has the SEC East wrapped up and if they can run the table (including a win in the SEC Championship game) they could be looking at a berth in the College Football Playoff.
