Vols Highlight Alert: Tennessee Football Commit Tee Higgins Gets National Attention in Basketball

Tennessee Football 2017 commitment Tee Higgins landed on ESPN SportsCenter with an amazing dunk in a basketball game. Higgins committed to the Vols as a WR.

Class of 2017 Tennessee football commit, and Oak Ridge’s own Tee Higgins, got national attention on Tuesday night for a play on the basketball court.

The 6’4 wide receiver, and in this case, combo guard, received some national attention for a dunk on a Gibbs opponent.

The tweet originally exploded from WBIR’s Patrick Murray and the Oak Ridge High School twitter account. According to 247 sports, Higgins is the 7th ranked wide receiver in the 2017 class. However, last night he showed a flash of his Division I talent on the hardwood.

Higgins, who also picked up a Tennessee offer in basketball in June, has garnered interest from several other programs to play college basketball. Although he’s future looks brighter on the gridiron, nobody is doubting his ability on the hardwood.

Now let’s take it to Oak Ridge with the call of the year. “Believe me sweetie I got enough to feed the needy.”

Higgins is a four-star on Rivals and has been committed to Tennessee since August. He has the size and clearly the ups at 6’4″, but if he can add on some weight to his 176-pound frame and get his 40-time into the 4.5 range by the time he gets to college, he could become an unstoppable receiver.

And hey, maybe he’ll become an unstoppable basketball player for Rick Barnes as well.
