Gildan New Mexico Bowl

Who: Arizona Wildcats vs. New Mexico Lobos

When: Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m.

Where: University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M.

TV: ESPN

Who Vols Fans Should Root For: New Mexico Lobos

Tennessee fans really have no stake in this game at all. Arizona nor New Mexico played any of their opponents, so there would be nothing to beef up the Vols’ schedule strength or improve their look.

This one should simply be about conference pride.

The SEC has been kicked a lot this year, despite still having 10 teams in a bowl game and another year of being in the College Football Playoff. So any toss-up, you might as well pull against other Power Five conferences, particularly those in the Pac-12, a conference that has always denied SEC superiority.

So Vols fans should just pull for New Mexico in this bowl game to root against the Pac-12.
