The Tennessee Volunteers will host the South Alabama Jaguars in 2021.
247Sports and other outlets reported on Monday that South Alabama will visit Neyland Stadium in 2021 to take on the Tennessee Vols.
Tennessee, according to Dustin Dopirak of the Knoxville News Sentinel, will pay South Alabama $1.2 million to travel to Knoxville in 2012. That’s a substantial amount.
To put that in perspective, the Vols reportedly paid Western Carolina $500,000 this past season for their matchup at Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee and South Alabama last played in 2013, Butch Jones’ first season on Rocky Top. The Vols won that game 31-24 (South Alabama outscored the Volunteers 17-7 in the second half to make the final score much closer than it should’ve been).

The Jaguars visit to Neyland in 2021 will be the second ever meeting between the two programs.
Tennessee also has a non-conference game against Pittsburgh scheduled in 2021.
