Tennessee Football: Cameron Sutton Returning to Vols for Senior Season

Tennessee football cornerback Cameron Sutton has joined Jalen Reeves-Maybin in deciding to return to the Volunteers for his senior season.

As if the news could not get any better for Tennessee’s defense, their top cornerback over the past two years just announced his decision to return for his senior season.

Cameron Sutton, just like linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin did earlier this week, announced his decision with a message on Twitter.

Sutton’s decision would seem to cap off a great week for the Tennessee football defense and has to have Butch Jones thrilled. First, Reeves-Maybin announces his decision to come back.

Then, Jones strikes gold with the announcement of new defensive coordinator Bob Shoop, who was far and away the most sought after assistant coach in college football. And then comes this decision.

Sutton joins Reeves-Maybin in jumping from beloved Vol to legendary Vol with his decision. He would almost surely have been a high NFL Draft pick and will probably be one again next year barring any injuries.

But while his falling draft stock may have had an impact on his decision, it is also appears highly likely that he wanted to be a part of what looks like it will be a great run for Tennessee going into next year.

And let’s be honest…who doesn’t want to get on board with that?

Congratulations to Sutton and Reeves-Maybin, who have displayed their true loyalty to Tennessee football. And congratulations to Butch Jones, who has clearly shown that he is a guys players want to give their all for.
