The Tennessee-Virginia Tech Battle at Bristol football game in Bristol, Tenn. this Fall will have the coolest scoreboard ever that hangs over the field.

It’s not a common thing in football to play underneath a floating scoreboard, or Jumbotron. Sure, it happens in basketball arenas and at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium, which is inside, but not much elsewhere.

Well, that’s another new thing that’s going to happen in college football this Fall during the Tennessee-Virginia Tech Battle at Bristol match-up.

The Bristol Motor Speedway administrators have a four-sided scoreboard in the works called the “Colossus,” which is set to be the largest overhead display in motorsports history.

Talk about hype. This is just another way to make this upcoming game the most exciting in potentially college football history.

And now, with Tennessee football looking at a potential national championship and with the Virginia Tech Hokies looking to go to the next level under new Head Coach Justin Fuente, it has a lot more hype behind in that we thought it would when the arrangements were made back a couple of years ago.

This scoreboard only makes things more interesting.

According to NASCAR Online, the scoreboard weighs 700 tons. This is going to come in really useful since it already is going to be the largest college football game ever attended, and it’s a way to alleviate some of the worries of many people who may feel like they did not get good seats.

What do you need them for when you can view this scoreboard?

That history now includes, attendance, venue, and a scoreboard.
