Still, with this class, he took on players who could make an impact immediately. With the slot spots filled up, the outside receiver spot is where to focus.

Von Pearson and Marquez North are both gone, leaving those spots to Preston Williams, Josh Malone, and Jauan Jennings. Jones and Mike DeBord have made it clear they like to run very deep at receiver, so they need a full rotation.

A four-star junior college player who stands at 6’6″ 190 pounds may be just the guy to complete that rotation.

Jeff George was clearly taken with the idea of getting on the field very quickly, and with Malone already the elite receiver on one side, DeBord may have a ton of flexibility with a receiver of George’s caliber.

At his size, those two lining opposite each other along with the slot guy and the use of the tight ends spot gives Tennessee an offense literally with no weaknesses. George and Malone cannot be guarded if they’re on the field at the same time due to size only.

He just adds to the mismatches that favor the Vols on offense. But he’s not even the top junior college player most likely to see the field early. That guy comes next.
