Tennessee basketball forward Armani Moore has been named the SEC player of the week, an honor two days after the Vols upset the LSU Tigers.
Armani Moore got some recognition for his hard work on the court last week, as he was named SEC player of the week.

Moore has done it all for the Vols this season averaging nearly 12 points a game, along with 8.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists. Even in games where Moore may only score two points, he still makes a positive impact on the game.
In an 80-70 loss over Kentucky, and a huge win without Kevin Punter Jr. 81-65 over LSU, Moore averaged 19 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, to go with a pair of blocks and steals a game.
What’s more impressive, the 6’4 senior, who many forget was recruited as a point guard, moved past Steve Hamer on the all-time block list. Moore now sits at eighth with 124 blocks.
Punter has deservedly received all of the attention this year, but Moore is having an impressive senior season, and got the recognition he deserves.
And Moore had to significantly step up with Punter injured last week, something he made sure to do when the Vols beat Ben Simmons’s Tigers last Saturday.
At .500, Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Vols are looking to make a bid for postseason play in the final two weeks of the season, and there is no doubt they will desperately need Moore to do it.
If he plays like he did this past week, they have a great chance.
