Former Tennessee Vol football player Ovince Saint Preux fought the final two rounds of his last fight with a broken arm.

UFC president Dana White confirmed to Fox Sports:UFC that former football Volunteer Ovince Saint Preux (OSP) suffered a broken left arm in UFC 197 .

OSP faced Jon Jones on Saturday in Las Vegas for the interim light heavyweight title on a three-week notice. Jones, who is considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest UFC fighter of all-time, was originally slated for a rematch against Daniel Cormier, but Cormier was forced out due to injury.

OSP entered the contest ranked sixth in the division, and Jones, in his first fight back since having the title stripped after a felony hit-and-run, was still ranked first in the division.

Going into the fight, OSP was a huge underdog, and watching the fight it was clear why. In what was quite frankly a boring fight, Jones had command from the first bell. In what looked like an entire match of sizing each other up, Jones was the only one to initiate a few take downs, and landed several kicks to OSP. Although it is still unclear to the exact moment, it was one of those kicks in the third round that damaged his left arm.

When many were questioning “why is OSP not being more aggressive?” in the final two rounds of the bout, now we know why. Saint Preux fought both the fourth and fifth rounds with a broken arm, and still managed to make it through until the final bell. In an unlucky turn of events for the former Vol, he did show incredible toughness gutting it out until the end.
