The Vols’ prospects for the NFL Draft and Tamika Catchings on her fourth Olympics team are hot topics for Tennessee fans on Rocky Top Thursday, April 28.

Happy Thursday to everybody. Football fans all over the country are excited for the NFL Draft, but as a DC resident, I’m most excited that Justin Bieber’s concert is one day away, and I’ve got my tickets!

But with this draft, there are some Vols who need to make Beliebers, I’m sorry, believers, out of NFL teams. A great feature on that is circulating through the football world today, as is a great feature on Joshua Dobbs. There is also some Lady Vols news to get to. Even with Candace Parker robbed, they are still represented at the Olympics.

Let’s start with the NFL Draft though with the morning news.

Vols in the NFL Draft: The Last Quiet April for Real this Time – Will Shelton of Rocky Top Talk

"Thanks to injuries and key players returning to school, the Vols may go empty in the NFL Draft two years in a row. But after several false alarms, 2016 really does look like the last time Tennessee won’t have a major presence in the draft."

Former Lady Vols Star Tamika Catchings makers her fourth Olympics team – UTSports

"Catchings, who played at Tennessee from 1997 to 2001 and has her No. 24 jersey banner hanging from the rafters of UT’s Thompson-Boling Arena, will try to help the U.S. win its sixth-straight gold medal in Olympic competition. She contributed to the last three gold efforts in 2004, 2008 and 2012."

Lady Vols add 6’3″ graduate transfer Schaquilla Nunn – Dan Fleser of Knoxville News-Sentinel

"Nunn was an All-Big South preseason selection before missing last season with a broken foot. In three seasons at Winthrop, she averaged 11.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game."

Joshua Dobbs feature: Vols QB strives for much more on and off football fieldMatt Murschel  of Orlando Sentinel

"Dobbs is wrapping up his junior year, during which he recorded close to 3,000 yards of total offense and 26 touchdowns. Before it’s all said and done, he could find his name among some of the elite names in Volunteers history."
