The Tennessee Vols-Virginia Tech Hokies football game will feature Kenny Chesney and The Band Perry in a Friday night concert at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

This game is beginning to look more and more like a Super Bowl match-up, or at least a College Football Playoff or championship game match-up.

With over 150,000 expected to attend, multiple pregame festivities, and now a series of famous artists performing live, the hype is getting real. And it is less than four months away!

Country star and longtime Vols fan Kenny Chesney is now slated to perform at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, Sept. 9, the night before the game, according to a report from The Knoxville News-Sentinel.

Old Dominion and The Band Perry will be opening acts for Chesney. Seating will be available for 45,000 fans, and tickets for the concert are set to go on sale June 8.

The excitement surrounding this game just keeps getting bigger, with Vols fans everywhere doing everything they can to get to Bristol for the weekend.

At this point, missing the game won’t even be a big deal if you can still watch it and just be a part of the festivities that are taking place throughout the weekend.

The only unfortunate part is the part that is always true: somebody is going to have to lose this football game.

But maybe Chesney will get back to embracing the Vol roots he used to have before becoming a guy who sings all about the islands and says he’s just an overall college football fan now.
