Tennessee football’s Alvin Kamara has earned praise from Volunteers fans base, and they expect him to improve in 2016. His athleticism will allow that.

Alvin Kamara has became very popular around Tennessee’s campus and fan base since his arrival to the team. His 2015 season has fans believing that good things are in store for 2016.

As most know, Kamara started his collegiate career at Alabama. Things didn’t work out in Tuscaloosa so he enrolled into Hutchinson Community College. After a season there, Kamara pledged to Tennessee football, and it has been one of the biggest recruiting gets of the Butch Jones Era.

Kamara provides speed to a dangerous offense. On top of his speed, Kamara provides good balance to the rushing attack. Hurd, Dobbs and Kamara is a scary threat to opposing defenses.

But what really has the Volunteer fan base excited?

Alvin Kamara brings back “swag” to the team. It seems as if this type of swag hasn’t existed in the program since the early 2000s or before. He’s a very popular Vol when it comes to Twitter. You almost always see him in tweets to recruits or anything associated with the team.

The infamous “dab” has made Kamara a figure for this team also. After one of his two touchdowns against Georgia this season, Kamara “dabbed” and that picture has been used a lot when it comes to recruiting on Twitter.

Last season Kamara put up pretty steady stats. He rushed for 698 yards with seven touchdowns. He also caught 34 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Also, you can’t forget his pass against Florida on 4th&2 when he took the handoff and threw it to Ethan Wolf for a first down and 24 yards.

His stats don’t pop out as Heisman worthy or anything like that. However he is just what this Tennessee offense needs. He gives Hurd a rest but adds a different element of running than Hurd so the defense has to adjust. Then you add Dobbs in on the running attack and it is scary for a defensive coordinator.

Another things about Kamara is he embraces his role as a backup. Even though he gets plenty of playing time he doesn’t get the starts. Him and Hurd have taken advantage of their talents and work together instead of trying to take away the others playing time. The chemistry between “CMG” is god for the hype of this upcoming season.

Alvin Kamara is what this team needs to make a serious run at the SEC title and maybe more.
