Until that time, here’s the news for the Vols today.

Vols keep things simple at SEC Media DaysDustin Dopirak of the Knoxville News Sentinel

"For the first time in coach Butch Jones’ tenure, Tennessee arrived at SEC Football Media Days on Tuesday knowing it will likely be named SEC East favorite by the end of the week thanks to the 17 starters it returns from a 9-4 team.It was clear from the time Jones and the three attending players began speaking that they had no interest in creating much news beyond their likely poll position."

Jalen Reeves-Maybin on Butkus Award Watch List – Ryan Callahan of 247Sports

"The Butkus Award, now in its 32nd season, honors the nation’s best linebackers at the college, high school and professional levels. The preseason watch list for the collegiate-level award includes candidates from 44 universities.…Reeves-Maybin, who is also on the watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Bronko Nagurski Award, is one of the most consistent linebackers in the SEC and returns for his senior season after ranking seventh in the SEC in total tackles (105) and ninth in tackles per game (8.1) a year ago."

Vols don’t take bait in Florida trash talk – Daniel Lewis of Rocky Top Insider

"Tennessee had its day at SEC Media Days on Tuesday, and as expected, the Florida topic was brought up often, but UT didn’t lob much in terms of return fire in terms of trash talk.“Not really for me…people have been doing that to me since I’ve been playing football, so it’s not really something that gets under my skin or anything like that,” UT linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin. “I appreciate football and some guys, that’s how they bring it. Some guys bring it on the field, I’ve got respect for Jarrad Davis as a football player, I like the way he plays. Some guys talk and some guys play. It’s a personal preference.”"
