The love just keeps coming for Tennessee Vols cornerback Cam Sutton. Already up for three awards, the star defensive back is now on the Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list.

Sutton is one of 43 players on the list, which goes to the “most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung,” according to the award’s website.

So now Sutton is up for two awards that go to the best defensive player, the Bednarik and Nagurski awards, the award the goes to the best defensive back, the Thorpe Award, and the award that goes to the best all-purpose player, the Hornung Award.

Is there anything else he can get recognition for?

This is the seventh year the award will be given out. The only thing that might hold Sutton back is that he might be too valuable to use on special teams this year given the existence of Alvin Kamara and Evan Berry, and his versatility on special teams is undoubtedly a huge reason he is on this list.

Still, it’s nice to see him getting so much preseason love. It is well-deserved, and it shows just how hight the expectation level is for the Vols going into the season.

With 10 Vols on 2016 awards watch lists and four of them up for at least three awards, Tennessee football just might be back.
