The Tennessee women’s basketball schedule and news of former Vols Chad Clifton and Peyton Manning headline the updates on Rocky Top for Tuesday, July 26.

It’s the last Tuesday in July, but we’ve still got three days to go of the Democratic National Convention…a never-ending circus that began with the Republicans’ convention last week. But for political junkies like me, all of this is fun.

Anyway, onto football news.

We veer off a bit from the 2016 Tennessee football team for today, although Tennessee football is still a huge part of what we’ll talk about. There’s great news surrounding two former Vols, and they were actually teammates for a period of time.

Also, the Tennessee Lady Vols have some news about looking forward to this season that we’ll address. Let’s first start with the big news surrounding the former Vols.

"The NFL has determined that Peyton Manning did not use human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing drug banned under the league’s policy. The league announced its decision in a statement released Monday, saying it “found no credible evidence” of allegations in an Al-Jazeera America report that Manning’s wife received deliveries of HGH in 2011."

Former Vol Chad Clifton inducted into Packers Hall-of-Fame – Ryan Callahan of 247Sports

"Clifton, who was honored with Nick Collins and Russ Winnie on Saturday, played all 12 of his NFL seasons for the Packers. A second-round selection in the 2000 NFL draft, Clifton appeared in 165 games and made 160 starts. He ranks second in franchise history behind only Forrest Gregg (187 games) for games played by an offensive tackle."
