The start of preseason for Tennessee Football and a volleyball update lead the Vols news on Rocky Top for Monday, Aug. 1.

Happy Monday everybody! Although most of us are always annoyed about heading into work on a Monday morning, this is a special day for Vol Nation and all football fans across the country.

This past weekend was the last weekend until February that no football will be televised, with preseason over the next month happening and college football now set to begin in exactly a month.

That first night of college football includes the Tennessee Vols, who only generate more excitement by beginning the journey of Team 120 today. We get into that first, but shockingly, there is one other update in news on Rocky Top that is not football related.

Let’s start with the football stuff, though, for the first day in August.

"The full version of Tennessee’s Team 120 will assemble for its first football practice Monday, exactly one month before it opens the season at home against Appalachian State. After eight months of discussions about whether the Vols are worthy of the considerable hype that surrounds them, they take to the field to try to prove it."

"Camp has finally arrived as the Vols take the field for the first time Monday evening at 6:10 pm ET.We’ll get a better feel for the opening-week depth chart over the next few weeks, but here’s our best crack at what it might look like, at least as camp opens."
