Once a three-star recruit on Rivals who appeared in five games last year as a freshman, Tennessee Vols cornerback Darrell Miller Jr. announced Wednesday that he is leaving the program.

The 5’10” 185-pound sophomore made his announcement on Twitter.

However, his announcement was very classy in a series of tweets, and he never said anything negative about the program.

Miller, out of Cedar Hill, Texas, made his debut against the Bowling Green Falcons last year as a true freshman. However, with the recent recruiting that Butch Jones has done at the defensive back position, it was unlikely he would ever get a chance to be a full-time starter.

We’re not saying we have any evidence that lack of playing time is the reason he is leaving, but it could be something to take into account. Nonetheless, there appears to be no hard feelings here.

Vol Nation should wish Miller all the best.
