Tennessee football practice updates and news on single-game tickets headline the Volunteers updates on Rocky Top for Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.

Happy hump day everybody! As the U.S. Presidential election takes another crazy turn with more crazy comments and scandals, and as the 2016 Rio Olympics continue with America having a dominant performance, football fans have a few things to pass the time.

But with the start of preseason delayed due to the cancellation of the Hall of Fame game, they are getting more restless by the day. Heck, even having a good team in baseball this time of year is supposed to be exciting, but nothing, including the Olympics and the election, comes close to any football.

Fortunately, college football season is just three weeks and a day away. And Tennessee Vols fans are getting hungrier for the season to start. Ticket info for games and another productive practice are the stories of the day on Rocky Top for Wednesday morning.

Let’s start with another practice as Butch Jones and the coaches continue the process of turning up the heat.

Vols trying third-string running back on special teams – Grant Ramey of USA TODAY Network

"John Kelly knows his place, third on the Tennessee running back depth chart behind Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara. And he’s fine with it.“I’ve always had an unselfish mentality in a game,” Kelly said. “It doesn’t matter where I’m at on the field, as long as I can help. That’s all that really matters.”"

Dylan Wiesman: Young linemen should sieze chance to develop – Wes Rucker of 247Sports

"Tennessee’s coaches seem to be pleased with the Vols’ three freshman offensive linemen, but it also doesn’t seem like the program will need to force any of them onto the field this season unless they prove to be all-world or some veterans get hurt.Senior guard Dylan Wiesman said he and several of his fellow veterans would have been lucky to be in that position in recent years. They weren’t, though, and many of them — including Wiesman — got throw into the fire as true freshmen."
