The LSU Tigers join the Florida Gators in the drama-filled weekend where their game was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew. However, this team has been filled with drama all year. The firing of Les Miles after the disappointing start showed that.
Still, they did everything they could to play Florida over the weekend, and Florida’s only option was to screw LSU in how they made up the game. The Tigers were right not to go for it.
In the process, though, this team got a much-needed bye week to get more acclimated to Ed Orgeron and how he runs things, and it could bode well for them in the long run.
After a blowout win over the Missouri Tigers two Saturdays ago, they clearly did nothing to drop in our SEC Power Rankings.
They have more time to get Leonard Fournette healthy, to develop Danny Etling, and to continue developing its elite defense.
Fortunately for them, with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles coming up next, they get essentially another bye week.
But then, things get brutal, as they have to face the Ole Miss Rebels, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Texas A&M Aggies. South Alabama is on there, but that could be moved due to the Florida game. So all this is up in the air.
