Cameron Sutton, Tennessee football recruiting, and men’s basketball media day headline the Volunteers updates on Rocky Top for Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016.

Thursday has arrived, and fans on Rocky Top are ready for their Vols to get back onto the football field after two weeks off. They also are itching to get the bad taste of that Alabama loss out of their mouths.

There’s lots of news to bring you about the Vols today regarding the football program, and for the first time in a while, it’s all good news.

Part of it is about the future of this season, and another part revolves around the future of the program as a whole.

Meanwhile, Tennessee Basketball is kicking into gear. We’ll get to that as well.

Cameron Sutton nearing return – Wes Rucker of 247Sports

"Cameron Sutton “probably” will be back on the field in a “couple of weeks,” Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Wednesday night.Sutton, an All-SEC cornerback and All-America return specialist, suffered a lower-leg fracture during the first quarter of Tennessee’s win over Ohio on Sept. 17 in Neyland Stadium."

Four-star linebacker commits to Vols – Ryan Callahan of 247Sports

"Top247 senior linebacker Will Ignont of Buckhorn High School in New Market, Ala., announced on his Twitter account Wednesday night that he has committed to Tennessee.The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Ignont chose the Vols over LSU and UCLA, along with scholarship offers from at least 20 other schools, less than two weeks after he visited Tennessee for the first time to attend its home game Oct. 15 against top-ranked Alabama."

Men’s Basketball media day – UTSports

"The Tennessee basketball team hosted it annual Media Day Wednesday, with dozens of reporters gathering content on this year’s Volunteers.The day’s events began with a one-hour media film session conducted by second-year head coach Rick Barnes, during which he broke down clips of Tennessee’s personnel and style of play."
