Tennessee basketball is set to visit the Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday afternoon. Here is the time, stream, and TV info for the Volunteers at MSU.

Riding the wave of a four-game winning streak, Tennessee basketball is back on the road to face the team where the streak all began.

The Vols will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs at The Hump in Starkville Saturday afternoon. The last time the two met, Tennessee won in a blowout, 91-74.

They haven’t lost a game since.

However, that game was in Thompson-Boling Arena. This one is on the road, and with a 13-8 record, Mississippi State will be looking to get something going with a win Saturday.

So Tennessee still has to remain focused. Here is all the information you need for the game.

The media is starting to take notice of Tennessee basketball’s success, as the Vols are favored to win this game on the road. Their win over the Auburn Tigers this past Tuesday moved them up in the RPI again, and they are now at No. 36.

That comes despite just a 13-9 record, which is only 12-9 by RPI standards. But their No. 4 ranked strength of schedule is helping them a lot.

Despite their 13-8 record, the Bulldogs are No. 119 in the RPI due to their No. 126 ranked strength of schedule.

Like Tennessee, Mississippi State is in its second year under a head coach who was fired from another program that he took to the Final Four.

Ben Howland has not moved as fast as Rick Barnes has in developing his program, but fans in Starkville have just as much excitement about the direction of the program under him as fans in Knoxville do about the Tennessee basketball program under Barnes.

Saturday’s match-up will go a long way in determining if Tennessee is actually an NCAA Tournament team. Should they win Saturday, then the only two losses they will be expected to have the rest of the way are at the Kentucky Wildcats and at the South Carolina Gamecocks.

So they have a real shot at 20 wins before Selection Sunday, but Saturday’s game is huge if they are going to do that.
