The Tennessee Lady Vols will host the Mizzou Tigers Thursday at Thompson-Boling Arena. Here is the preview and info for the women’s basketball Volunteer.

After a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on the road this past Sunday, the Tennessee Lady Vols will be looking to get back on track this week against the Missouri Tigers.

This is a huge game for both teams in the SEC standings, as they each stand at 6-4 overall. The loser will be out of any running for the SEC regular season title, but that long shot stays alive for the team that wins.

Despite the loss on Sunday, Holly Warlick’s team still managed to enter the Top 25 due to its resume after last week’s games. And they are No. 14 in the RPI due to their strength of schedule.

However, they need to keep winning. Missouri is No. 30 in the RPI and looking to continue to climb up the ladder. A win against the Lady Vols in Knoxville would be extremely helpful for them in that regard.

Missouri was on a roll until last week, when they hit reality by facing the Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, that was a loss on the road, and it’s not much to be ashamed of.

They still have been climbing the SEC ladder with very solid wins and would like nothing more than to add another one to their resume by beating the Lady Vols.

For the Lady Vols, the prospect of winning out until the final game of the regular season against Mississippi State is very possible.

But they have to get past Missouri to be able to do it, and this is going to be a very tough team.
