Tennessee football’s spring game is slated for 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The Volunteers’ Orange and White game will air on the SEC Network.
Spring practice is right around the corner, and for another year, Tennessee football will have its Orange and White game on television.
SECSports released its TV schedule for spring games, and the Vols are slated to play theirs at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.
Tennessee’s spring game is after Alabama’s A-Day Game, which airs on ESPN at 3 p.m., and it’s before LSU’s spring game, which airs at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network.
There are numerous intriguing storylines for the Tennessee football spring game this year.
For starters, Butch Jones has a new offensive coordinator and three other new position coaches along with a new strength coach.
The staff changes alone make this an interesting spring game.
Then there’s the storyline on the field itself, as the Vols are looking for a new quarterback to replace the legacy that Joshua Dobbs left Tennessee football.
Tennessee hasn’t truly had an open competition for the starting quarterback job since Butch Jones’s first year in 2013, and before that it was in 2010.
So seeing how Quentin Dormady and Jarrett Guarantano perform in the spring game, along with Will McBride and Sheriron Jones, will be the most fun part of it.
We’ll get our first glimpses at the quarterbacks when spring practice rolls around in a month or so. And then fans will be able to see on television April 22 just how good all of these guys are.
