The Tennessee Vols have a new assistant Volleyball coach. Rob Patrick announced Nikki Dailey as a new member of the Volunteers program Monday.

The football program isn’t the only sports program in Knoxville seeing some attrition with assistant coaches. The Tennessee Vols’ volleyball program also announced is dealing with some changes to its staff.

Volleyball head coach Rob Patrick announced Nikki Dailey as a new assistant coach for the Volunteers on Monday. Dailey played Volleyball for the Iowa Hawkeyes, her alma mater, from 2010 to 2013, according to her profile on the school’s website.

After that, Dailey went to East Tennessee State to become an assistant coach. She went from there to Tennessee.

Dailey will spend her time working primarily with the setter position, which is the position she played. Here’s what Dailey said about being hired, according to a report on UTSports.

"“I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to be at Tennessee. What brought me here is the level of commitment and achievement the entire community of Tennessee embodies."

Here is a quote from Patrick about the hire on the website.

"“We are very excited to add such a talented, hardworking and experienced setting coach in Nikki. She is definitely one of the outstanding young female coaches in our sport. Nikki will have her hands in all phases of our volleyball program including primary responsibilities of working with our setters.”"

Dailey will also run summer camps, serve as academic and community service liaison and supervise team managers, according to the report.
