The 2017 Women’s Basketball SEC Tournament Bracket is set. The Tennessee Lady Volunteers earned a No. 5 seed and will play their first game Thursday.

With a 19-10 overall record and a 10-6 record to close out the Southeastern Conference regular season, the Tennessee Lady Vols earned a No. 5 seed in the 2017 women’s basketball SEC Tournament.

They will play on Thursday, but their time and opponent are still undetermined.

That’s because as the No. 5 seed, they get to play the lowest seed between the winners of the two games Wednesday, which featured the No. 11 through the No. 14 seeds.

The No. 12 seed Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 13 seed Vanderbilt Commodores kick off the tournament at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, and after that the No. 11 seed Florida Gators and No. 14 seed Arkansas Razorbacks face off.

Regardless of which team Holly Warlick’s group will face Thursday, they will certainly face the No. 4 seed Kentucky Wildcats on Friday if they win.

That’s because as the lowest seed to automatically reach the quarterfinals, the Wildcats will have to face the highest seed of the Thursday teams that win.

If Tennessee wins, nobody could be higher than them.

It is absolutely impossible to know what will happen to the Tennessee Lady Vols in the SEC Tournament. After all, this team is 10-6 in the conference. But they also defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks and Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road.

So they can clearly beat anybody in the conference.

They are a lock for the NCAA Tournament, but a road through the conference tournament would help them with seeding.

And with Diamond DeShields back and healthy, there is no telling what kind of run they might be able to go on.

This is the most inconsistent and the most dangerous team in all of college basketball.
