Rick Barnes got his biggest commitment yet with Tennessee basketball. Four-star forward Yves Pons out of France committed to the Volunteers.

With Robert Hubbs III graduating, Tennessee basketball needs a new wing for next year. Rick Barnes may have found one for the Vols from France.

Yves Pons, a four-star on Rivals, comes from INSEP Academy in Paris and committed to the Vols on Tuesday, according to a report on GoVols247.

At 6’6″ 215 pounds, Pons picked Tennessee basketball over the Florida Gators.

The third commitment in the 2017 recruiting class, Pons might end up being one of the most complete players ever to play for Tennessee basketball.

With his frame, he is also ridiculously athletic. He can dunk on people, run the floor, and block shots.

On top of that, he stretches the floor with a nice outside shot.

And he is a left-handed shooter who can go to his right. Given the fact that he played overseas, he has probably developed a nice shooting touch to go with his athleticism.

That makes him a huge pickup for the Vols.

Pons is the first four-star on Rivals to commit to the Vols since Barnes arrived in Knoxville. He joins forward Derrick Walker and Center Zach Kent, both of whom are three-star recruits, in this year’s Tennessee basketball recruiting class.

And with Hubbs the only senior, Barnes now looks like he won’t miss a beat next year with everybody coming back and a new scorer to replace him.
