Tennessee football 2018 four-star prospect Alontae Taylor said that while he is committed to the Volunteers, he is still open to other schools.

Given what happened to Tennessee football’s recruiting class this past year, Butch Jones probably does not want to here this.

But all of Vol Nation heard it.

After losing wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni to the Chicago Bears, four-star in-state athlete for 2018 Alontae Taylor, who has already committed to the Vols, said he is open to other schools.

Here is his full message on Twitter from last Friday.

Simply put, his commitment is basically open with Tennessee football as a favorite.

That means Butch Jones and the Vols have a crucial job to do in trying to secure another wide receivers coach quickly. That will play a huge role into whether or not they can keep Taylor on board.

At 5’11” 180 pounds, the Manchester, Tenn. prospect also has offers from elite schools like the LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, Stanford Cardinal, and Georgia Bulldogs.

It doesn’t help that Willie Martinez, who is now gone as well, was the initial guy to recruit him.

At least Charlton Warren has now come in to fill that void. Butch Jones needs to fill the other void at wide receivers coach quickly. Otherwise, the Vols could be in trouble with another in-state decommitment.
