Tennessee football recruiting has some momentum. The Volunteers offered scholarships to Texas wide receivers for Arjei Henderson and Tejan Bridges Monday.

After picking up four recruits over the weekend from the spring game, including three for the 2018 class, it looks like Tennessee football is trying to cash in on the momentum.

Butch Jones and the Vols offered scholarships to two more wide receivers on Monday. This time, Tennessee went to Texas to find the skill players. But after reeling in guys from Florida and Georgia over the weekend, it makes sense.

Four-star wide receiver Arjei Henderson was the first guy to announce an offer from the Vols. Henderson, a 6’2″ 190 pound prospect, comes from Travis High School in Richmond, Texas.

He tweeted out his announcement Monday morning.

About six hours later, four-star wide receiver Trejan Bridges announced that he had also received a scholarship offer from the Vols. Bridges stands at 6’2″ and 170 pounds. He comes out of Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas.

Bridges also tweeted out the offer.

Bridges and Henderson are not four-stars across every recruiting service, but they are both four-stars on Rivals.

Butch Jones is being bold taking Tennessee football’s presence into Texas, but there’s no better time than now to cash in on that after such a good recruiting weekend.

Also, both of these guys would be the perfect wideouts for Jones’s system. When you consider that Jauan Jennings could leave after this year because of his talent, the Vols could have a real void to fill at the receiver position in the future.

And depth there will be more important than ever.

It’s also just important to keep beefing up recruiting.

Tennessee football currently have the No. 13 ranked recruiting class on Rivals, but these two receivers give them a chance to increase that over time.
