So in early May, Rocky Top still has a lot of things going on that we need to get to.

As we get set to bring you the news today, there is an X’s and O’s related story for football along with a revenue story. We also give you a heads up for upcoming games and celebrate postseason awards.

But let’s start with the interesting X’s and O’s story.

Larry Scott reveals how much of the offense he’s installed – Mike Griffith, SEC Country

Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Larry Scott went through his first spring in his new position. Although he is running Butch Jones’s system, he is able to implement his own ideas into it. Scott recently revealed his installment portion.

"“I think as far as the install, we’re probably 50 or 60 percent through it,” Scott said at the end of the spring football session, referring to the amount of the offensive package Tennessee players had learned.“The biggest thing is the teaching, the refinement, the details,” said Scott, who closed the 2015 regular-season 4-1 as Miami’s interim head coach. “Teaching is vital, and sometimes you have to speed things up and sometimes you have to slow things down, and it’s all variable and all fluid as you go through an install.”"

Tennessee Vols net profit for bowl trip – Patrick Brown, GoVols247

Tennessee football’s bowl trip was an overall success. Not only did they dominate the Nebraska Cornhuskers, watch Derek Barnett break the all-time school sacks record, and send Joshua Dobbs off on a high note, but they also turned a profit.

"Tennessee totaled more than $1.07 million in expenses for its Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl trip to end the 2016 football season, but the athletic department still turned a six-figure profit for the short trip to Nashville."

Five softball Vols earn postseason SEC recognition – SEC Sports Online

Tennessee Vols softball junior Meghan Gregg was named SEC Player of the Year, All-SEC first team and All-SEC defensive team while Caylan Arnold earned SEC Freshman of the Year and made the All-Freshman team. Meanwhile, Brooke Vines and Matty Moss both made All-SEC second team, and Chelsea Seggern joined Arnold on the SEC All-Freshman team.

With the SEC player of the Year award, Gregg joins India Chiles, Tonya Callahan, Lauren Gibson, and Madison Shipman as the five Tennessee Vols to win that award.

"The Southeastern Conference announced its annual softball awards to cap the 2017 season and kick off the SEC Softball Tournament in Knoxville, Tenn., May 10-13. The All-SEC Teams consist of 29 total student-athletes, along with a 13-member All-Freshman team and a nine-member All-Defensive Team. No ties were broken."

Tennessee baseball set for back to back midweek games – UTSports

After splitting a two-game series against the no. 14 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks, the Tennessee Vols once again have a chance to build some momentum with two very winnable midweek games against the Belmont Bruins at home and the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on the road. They will play those teams on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively.

"The Vols (24-19, 7-15 SEC) look to continue a current three-game win streak over Belmont since the 2015 season, while the program’s trip to visit Eastern Kentucky will mark UT’s first appearance in Richmond, Kentucky, since 1991."
