Place Kicker

1. Aaron Medley

This is only due to seniority. But Aaron Medley has not improved at all since his freshman year, and although he does all you can ask for as a college kicker, his lack of development has frustrated Tennessee football fans. Still, going into his senior year, he has the experience and the proven track record of being somewhat reliable.

Medley is 52 of 73 on field goals for his career and was 11 of 16 last year. More importantly, he was eight of nine inside the 40-yard line, and although that’s nothing to praise, when a college kicker is automatic inside 40, you don’t let them go. On top of that, he hasn’t missed an extra point since his freshman year.

The reason Medley can be frustrating is that he has the leg to make kicks beyond 50 yards, but he always struggles with accuracy once they go beyond 40 yards. His signs of encouragement are that he did improve last year.

In fact, he was nearly 50 percent beyond 40 last year, going three-of-seven. That’s much better, and if he can take just one more step, he’d be an All-American as a senior.

2. Brent Cimaglia

Brent Cimaglia was a three-star recruit and highly coveted kicker as a member of the 2017 Tennessee football recruiting class. The Vols do have two other kickers on the roster in Holden Foster and Laszlo Toser, but we have Cimaglia coming in and taking the backup kicker spot with his raw talent.

Holder

Parker Henry

Parker Henry is the only guy on the roster at this position, so the 6’1″ 185-pound junior will assume these duties again.
