Happy Friday to everybody! You all are likely enjoying the great weather, and there is plenty of Tennessee Vols news to get to in order to keep you entertained as well.

As we get set to bring you the news on Rocky Top today, it comes ahead of Tony Vitello’s introductory press conference.

Remember we mentioned him yesterday as the new Vols baseball coach. But ahead of that, the dominating news for this morning is football.

There’s the postseason for another sport as well. But let’s start with a former Vols coach praising a current one.

Lane Kiffin praises Butch Jones – Dan Harralson, Saturday Down South

In an interview reflecting on his time in the SEC, former Tennessee Vols coach Lane Kiffin looked back on his one year at Tennessee, and he also praised Butch Jones and the direction of the program.

"I think Coach [Butch Jones] has done a great job there. They really have had some tough breaks down the stretch. They started out really fast with some big wins and it seems like they are right there and need one break to get it done."

Eric Berry’s good deed – Rebecca Scott Mills Facebook page

Former Tennessee Vols and current Kansas City Chiefs superstar safety Eric Berry is getting praise on social media now after it came out that he bought food for homeless people in Knoxville a couple of nights ago. A citizen in downtown Knoxville broke the news by posting what she saw while leaving a restaurant on her Facebook page.

"As we were leaving Eric was in front of us carrying his to-go food. What happened next brought tears to my eyes. He delivered the food to 3 homeless people on the streets and then kneeled down and prayed with them."

Three Vols compete in NCAA Women Outdoor Track and Field Championship – UTSports

Chelsea Blaase, Cassie Wertman, and Shania Collins all competed in Day Two of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field championship. Stamatia Scarvelis was also there but ended her season with three fouls in the hammer throw competition. But Blaase was the star.

"Chelsea Blaase finished in seventh place in the 10,000m final as she claimed her ninth All-American honor in her career at Tennessee. It was her seventh first-team All-American honor. She crossed the line in 33:06.86 and remains the only women’s runner in Tennessee history to earn All-American honors in the 10,000m."
