Tennessee football recruiting: Vols in top 5 for 2018 three-star in-state WR Cam Jones
Tennessee football remains on the radar for 2018 in-state recruit Cam Jones. The three-star wide receiver put the Volunteers in his top five.
From the other side of the state, Tennessee football is drawing interest from a three-star wide receiver. Cam Jones of Cordova, which is just outside of Memphis, named his top five on Monday.
And the Vols were in it.
Jones announced his top five on his Twitter account, according to a report from Ryan Callahan of GoVols247.
Tennessee football is in play with the Memphis Tigers Indiana Hoosiers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Missouri Tigers.
Jones decommitted from Indiana back in May. His older brother is former Tennessee football defensive tackle LaRon Harris, who played for the Vols in the mid-2000s under Phillip Fulmer.
A three-star on Rivals, the St. Benedict High School prospect stands at 6’3″ and 205 pounds. He is the No. 31 ranked prospect in the state.
Right now, Tennessee looks like a clear favorite to land him among the five schools. The 247sports Crystal Ball has three predictions for his landing spot, and all of them predict him to go to the Vols.
On top of that, they are the only school in the ‘warm’ category for Jones.
So Jones is definitely another strong prospect to help the Vols shore up their depth issues at the receiver spot for the future.
