Tennessee football recruiting is already gaining ground for 2019. The Volunteers are a ‘top school’ for elite in-state wide receiver Lance Wilhoite.

Tennessee football got more good news on the recruiting front Monday. This time, it was for the 2019 class.

In-state wide receiver Lance Wilhoite mentioned that the Vols were a ‘top school,’ according to an article by VolQuest Senior Writer Jesse Simonton.

Wilhoite attended Tennessee for ‘Orange Carpet Day’ and met with Kevin Beard, and it’s clear the Vols are high on his list.

And the way he described the school should be music to Vols fans’ ears. Here’s an excerpt of it from the article.

"“Tennessee sticks out more than others,” said Wilhoite, who also holds offers from Ohio State, LSU, South Carolina, Louisville and Kentucky, among others.“They’re a top school for (me).”"

At 6’2″ 165 pounds already before his junior year, Wilhoite is another member of that elite talent in the Nashville pipeline. He attends Franklin Road Academy.

And he joins a plethora of elite in-state receivers for 2019, including Trey Knox, Kendrell Scurry and Shamar Nash. Butch Jones needs to build more elite receiver depth for the future, and guys like Wilhoite in the 2019 class are a huge way to do that.
